Products Liability
Product liability refers to an area of law that allows a recovery to those who have suffered injury or death due to a defective product or a product malfunction. If you or a loved one has been injured due to a defective or dangerous product, Hemmings & Stevens, P.L.L.C., can help you.
Examples of a product liability case include defective prescription drugs or medical equipment, defective car seats, cribs and other children’s products, defective automobiles, and defective equipment.
Product defects may occur due to design defects, wherein a product is not safe. Some products on the market may also have hidden defects unknown to the consumer. There may also be manufacturing defects regarding imperfections in how a product was assembled. Sometimes there are marketing defects wherein buyers of products are not adequately warned of the risks or dangers of a specific product that was known by the manufacturer upon distribution to the public. One sign that a product may be defective is a large recall of a specific product.
Initial consultations are provided at no charge and in-home appointments are also available. We represent individuals and families statewide in any city or county in the State of North Carolina.
