Med Pay Insurance
Your auto insurance policy may contain a provision for Med-Pay coverage. If you are injured in a car accident, Med-Pay can be used to pay your medical bills regardless of whether you or the other driver was at fault. This coverage is used to bridge the gap between time of injury and the time when you are able to go back to work.
In North Carolina, if you receive Med-Pay coverage from your insurance company, it does not affect the other driver’s liability to you, meaning that they may still be responsible for paying your medical bills in full. Also, under NC law, even if your medical insurance covers your medical bills, this payment to you does not affect the liability of the at-fault driver to pay you for your lost wages, medical bills or pain and suffering.
At Hemmings & Stevens, there is no fee for recovering Med-Pay payments. We do not charge for processing Med-Pay insurance claims.
In any case, if you have been injured in an automobile accident, contact Hemmings & Stevens for a consultation now.
